The one song workout

The One Song workout I’ve recently discovered the benefits of looping one song repeatedly during a workout. Obviously you’d want to pick a song you like for this. The most clear benefit is that you aren’t listening to someone else’s playlist which may have some songs you don’t like on it. You simply have one song you like. The tempo probably stays relatively constant during the song, so you kind of entrain your mind and body to the beat. You also can eventually tune it out a bit on the third or 4th repeat. Depending on the time of the song you could use it to take a break as the song finishes and restarts. I think an obvious downside is that you could burn yourself out on the song. While the top 40 effect was discovered years ago.. (i.e. that we like a song the more we hear it).. it is possible for a song to annoy you after too many replays.
